About GPI

The Exchange Information Platform (GPI) was established by the Polish Power Exchange. It pursues the idea of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) to construct a single, commonly accessible information platform for the energy market. The platform is a place for publication of orderly, transparent data on the Polish energy system and inside information on planned and unplanned availability of production capacity and, in the future, availability of consumption facilities in compliance with art. 4 of REMIT. Thus, information that could have any impact on wholesale energy market prices and trading decisions of its participants.

The GPI is a result of cooperation between representatives of entire electricity sector under the aegis of the President of ERO. Development of the platform had been continuously consulted with the GPI Working Group composed of the following entities: Polskie Sieci Energetyczne (PSE S.A.), Tauron Polska Energia, Energy Regulatory Office, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, Zespół Elektrowni Pątnów-Adamów-Konin, Association of Energy Trading (TOE) and Polish Power Exchange. Moreover, cooperation with ACER on technological requirements for data reporting and issuance of REMIT implementing acts had been established. The Exchange Information Platform is divided into three main sections:

1) Urgent Market Messages

The system enables publication of information regarding planned and unplanned capacity outages of generation facilities by market participants obliged under REMIT. This section is publicly accessible in the information segment. In the reporting segment, it is available only for entities with permitted right of access. The integral part of this section is the listing of capacity generation outages updated continuously by successive reports of market participants and the Transmission System Operator (TSO). After the registration at ACER, it will become a RIS platform (Regulated Information Services).

2) Data on electricity system

This section of GPI contains data on planned and current capacity demand and scale of generation required to cover it. The daily, short and long-term plans are published. The cross-border exchange being part of single European market is presented.

3) The Polish Power Exchange Markets

In this section the basic price indexes and turnover volumes in the POLPX markets are presented.
