Glossary

BPKD – Current Daily Coordination Plan – is a document containing  planned conditions of generating units, regulation systems and 15-minutes load sizes for each Centrally Dispatched Generating Unit (JWCD). BPKD is construed on the basis of Daily Coordination Plan (PKD) plan and constantly updated.

BTHD – Daily Technical Trade Balance – means a report on the functioning of the National Power Power System and Balancing Market (for generation abilities it provides for planned capacity outages resulting from reasons on power plants side, reported by the generators in the plan creation phase).

Electric Power System Data – means a set of data about the electric power system in the entire country (electric power grids, facilities and installations connected, cooperating with the grid).

Delivery Day – means the period from 0:00 until 24:00 every day, during which energy contracts are fulfilled by physical delivery.

Power plant – means an industrial plant or set of facilities producing electricity from various forms of primary energy.

Generation – total power of electricity producing facilities.

Generating Unit – means an isolated set of facilities, described by the technical and trade data, belonging to the energy enterprise, designed for energy generation and conducting out power capacity. Thus, the generating unit includes also the unit transformers and lines to the system including connectors in the place of the unit connection to the grid.

Centrally Dispatched Generating Unit (JWCD) – means a generating unit connected to the transmission grid or coordinated 110 kV grid, the subject to central dispatching by the TSO.

JW Code – means a generating unit identification code.

KSE – National Electric Power System – means the power system operating in the country.

Available Generation Capacity – means electric capacity which may be dispatched by the TSO under the actual operating conditions.

Achievable Generation Capacity - means the maximum continuous capacity that can be maintained by the power plant within the defined period of time provided a good condition of facilities and normal operating conditions.

Transmission System Operator (TSO) – means the energy enterprise handling the transmission, responsible for the grid operation within the electric power transmission system, current and long-term security of this system operation, running, maintenance, overhaul and necessary transmission grid development, including connections to other electric power systems.

PKD – Daily Coordination Plan – means a coordination plan developed by TSO on n-1 day for each hour of day n, with the support of the Load Distribution Algorithm ensuring the selection of the Scheduling Generating Units participating in the Balancing Market, basing on the trade and technical data submitted in the balancing bids, considering the system constraints and the necessary capacity reserve in National Power System and the equality of market participants and Energy  Contracts (Schedules) notified for the physical delivery. The Daily Coordination Plan contains the operating plan of Centrally Dispatched Generating Units (JWCD) for each  hour of the day, considering the balancing of the daily demand forecast, required reserves and system constraints existing in National Power System.

RB – Balancing Market – means the mechanism of continuous balancing of electricity demand and generation in National Power System.

Power producer – means an energy enterprise involved in electricity generation, whose generation facilities have been connected to the grid
